Charlton Athletic v Notts Forest preview

The games come thick and fast at the beginning of the season and the Addicks have a rare Wednesday home match due to the demands of Sky.

Nottingham Forest will be the visitors, and it promises to be a tough game. Lee Bowyer will have to balance tinkering with a winning side against keeping his players fresh.

Recent arrivals, Tomer Hemed and Erhun Oztumer, could be involved.

Following his arrival ‎Hemed had this to say:

“I am very happy to be here, I am excited to be here and start the season with the team.

“I’ve already missed a few games so I can’t wait for the next one and to be involved and be a part of the rest of the season.

“They’ve brought me here to score goals first of all, so obviously I will do my best every game to help the team.

“If it’s to score goals or give assists  in any way, just to help the team to get the points and achieve the targets for this season.

“I need to bring my experience; I think that is the first thing that the club wants from me on the pitch in that division.

“I think for a lot of the younger lads here I can always give advice and show them the right way to do things.”

‎The head injury Chris Solly picked up at Barnsley is likely to rule him out. Other than that Lee Bowyer has no fresh injury worries with his starting side likely to be as followed.

Phillips; Oshilaja, Lockyer, Pearce, Purrington; Pratley, Cullen, Gallagher, Williams; Taylor, Hemed.

Subs: Amos, Sarr, Field, Lapslie, Forster-Caskey, Aneke, Leko.

The referee will be Ollie Langford from the West Midlands.

Bowyer will be hopeful of keeping his side’s early‎ season momentum going.
