Charlton Athletic v Truro City preview

The magic of the FA Cup returns, and for those who love an upset, all eyes will be on The Valleyon Sunday. National League South outfit, Truro City, will be hoping to make dreams come true for the romantics.

Karl Robinson has done his homework though, and will not be taking his opponents lightly. Here is what he had to say about the game:

“We won’t lose focus, we’re going to play a very strong team on Sunday. We’ll take it very seriously.

“We want our players to have minutes as the Shrewsbury game has been called off.

“They’ve done unbelievable to get to this round. They won’t want to stop at Charlton, they’ll want to go further.

“We’ve got to make sure we’re not that team.”

MK Dons will be Charlton’s next opponents in the league when they pitch up at The Valley in two weeks time.

Three weeks is a long break for a side with winning momentum, and Robinson is sure to play some of his regulars against Truro.

He will also want to use the game to give minutes to some of the fringe players. The Addicks could look something like this:

Amos; Solly, Bauer, Sarr, Jackson; Aribo, Forster-Caskey, Marshall, Reeves, Holmes; Dodoo.

Subs: Phillips, Konsa, Dijksteel, Clarke, Fosu, Lapslie, Ahearne-Grant,

‎The referee will be Dean Whitestone from Northamptonshire.

Backed by a large travelling support, the White Tigers will be no push overs. But if they approach the task with the right attitude, Charlton should have too much in the locker for their opponents.
