Charlton will again field a largely second string eleven against Doncaster in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Promotion is Lee Bowyer’s priority, and after a tough game on a heavy pitch at Burton few, if any, of the regulars willl be risked.

Dillon Phillips, Mark Marshall, Billy Clarke, Nicky Ajose, Reeco Hackett-Fairchild, Albie Morgan, Toby Stevenson, Jamie Mascoll and Ryan Blumberg‎ are amongst those like to be involved.

Tariqe Fosu may be given another outing, and Bowyer confirmed at his press conference on Thursday that Ben Reeves will play:

“Ben Reeves will play on Saturday,

“On the injury side of things, who plays on Saturday is more about how tired they are today (Thursday), there’s a lot of tight groins and stiffness.

“It was a heavy pitch the other day and they put a good shift in, so it’s more a case of trying to wrap them up and look after them than people coming back because it’s only Ben Reeves coming back.

‎”It gives opportunities to other players to get some minutes and a chance for some to show that they’re ready for when we need them.

“We’ll still be going out there to try and give 100 per cent and to win the game. That’s the way they are and that’s the way I am.

“Every game we want to win but we are in a good place in the league and I said from day one that the most important thing is promotion and that’s what I’m trying to do. Nothing has changed there,”‎ said Bowyer.

The carrot in this round is the chance for winning teams to be paired with one of the giants in the next round.

However, the league will be the priority for most managers.

Brett Huxtable from Devon will take charge of the match.

The game will be played in front of another sparse crowd‎. It is believed only 1500 or so tickets had been sold by close of play on Thursday.
