Charlton succumbed to a late Cameron Jerome goal, after battling back from a two goal half-time deficit.

Guy Luzon made five changes fro the team that started at Middlesbrough on Saturday. Andre Bikey, Rhoys Wiggins, Johnnie Jackson, Frederic Bulot and Igor Vetokele coming in for Oguchi Onyewu, Morgan Fox, Milos Veljkovic, Simon Church and Tony Watt.

Before the kick-off there was a minute’s silence for Bob Snow, the club’s former Player Liaison Officer who died, aged 79, last week.

The Addicks were the architects of their own downfall for the opening goal after 14 minutes.  Chris Solly played a loose ball in midfield, Lewis Grabben took advantage and fed Jonny Howson, who shot past Marko Dmitovic’s right-hand.

The Canaries created some good openings. Gary Hooper set Howson up but the midfielder blazed his effort over the bar.

There was a ball played across the face of the goal by Grabban that just needed a touch to double the visitors’ advantage.  Charlton offered little going forward.

Just when it seemed the Addicks were going to get to the break with a single goal deficit, Grabben latched onto the ball after confusion between Tal Ben Haim and Bikey to lob Dmitrovic and give Norwich a 2-0 lead at the interval.

Guy Luzon introduced Tony Watt for the ineffective Bulot at the start on the second half, and just before the hour mark, Callum Harriott replaced Johnnie Jackson.

Two minutes after Harriott joined the fray, Charlton halved the arrears. Vetokele   put Watt in and the Scot slipped the ball under John Ruddy to open his account for the club.

Seven minutes later, Vetokele ended his three month goal drought to restore parity for the Addicks.

Watt crossed from the left, Harriott hit the post and Vetokele despatched the rebound.

The Addicks went chasing the winner but their hopes were dashed seven minutes from time.

Wes Hoolahan put a ball in from the left and Cameron Jerome glanced the ball past Dmitrovic to secure the three points for Norwich.

The winless streak extends to fourteen games and Charlton are precariously close to the relegation places. A win over Brentford on Saturday is essential.
