Charlton Ath v Blackpool preview

As expected, ticket prices for the Blackburn FA Cup match will be priced at £10 with concessions paying just £5.

The upper tiers of the North and West stands, as well as both quadrants, will be closed for this fixture, which will be played on Saturday 3 January with a 3.00pm kick-off.

Should the game end in a draw, the replay will be at Ewood Park on Wednesday 14 Janaury and will kick-off at 7.45pm.

The home game with Brighton on Saturday 10 January will be a special promotion, with all juniors being admitted for £1.

Charlton will be strongly fancied to beat bottom-of-the-table Blackpool at The Valley on Saturday, but the game may be more difficult than many envisage.

The Seasiders beat Birmigham last week but have yet to win on their travels. They have drawn four and lost six of their away games but the Addicks are not in sparkling form either.

All of Bob Peeters’ team’s six wins have been by a single goal and they have only netted more than a single goal twice in their last fifteen matches, so it is unlikely Charlton will score many goals.

The Addicks lack a real cutting edge and their most potent striker, Igor Vetokele, is playing through the pain barrier with Achilles and calf problems.

Nick Pope will again be in goal and with Stephen Henderson likely to need an operation on his troublesome shoulder, Pope could be set for a lengthy run in the team.

Chris Solly will take over the captaincy from the injured Johnnie Jackson, and will be joined by Tal Ben Haim, Andre Bikey and Morgan Fox in defence.

Yoni Buyens was on the bench at Forest and his hamstring should have recovered for him to partner someone in central midfield with Francis Coquelin having returned to Arsenal. The pair will probably be flanked by Johann Gudmundsson and Jordan Cousins.

Callum Harriott may again support Vetokele up front.

The referee will be Andy Davies from Hampshire.

The Addicks will be desperate to win their last home game before Christmas but the game is likely to be close and could be a ten
