Hill ready for Thruxton

25 year-old BRDC Member Jake Hill heads to the high-speed sweeps of Thruxton confident of a strong performance.

Having taken points in two of the three races there in May, and having challenged for a podium position last-time out at Snetterton.

The Trade Price Cars Racing star comes to the fastest circuit in the UK in an impressive 5th in the Independent Drivers category, with the TPC team 4th in their debut season.

“I love the challenge of Thruxton. It’s a proper old-school circuit, and we were in good shape last time we were here – since then we’ve understood the car so much more, so hopefully we will be in a really good place to challenge for points” said Hill.

Trade Price Cars Racing and Hill have been a revelation in  2019 – taking a podium on their debut at Brands Hatch, and scoring points at every race weekend so far, with Hill taking a ‘Win’ at Oulton Park and challenging for a podium at Snetterton.

“We are so close to getting more podiums and maybe even a Win. The team have been superb – I absolutely love being part of TPC and AmD, it’s the most successful and enjoyable season I’ve ever had in BTCC…let’s see where we end up!” smiled Hill.

Hill and the TPC crew are also delighted to be welcoming local partners Racetruck to Thruxton, who will join Aston Lark and Ocean Fire and Security and Procurri  as his guests, all keen to cheer on Hill and his team-mate, former F1 driver Mark Blundell.

Nevill looking to continue good form

Following a positive home round at Brands Hatch last month, Dartford racing driver Alex Nevill is looking to continue the good form into round 4 of the Mini Challenge Cooper Pro championship this weekend at Croft in Yorkshire.

Last month’s Mini Festival saw the 2018 Cooper Am champion take a pair of 5th place finishes on home turf at Brands Hatch, matching his best result of the year, whilst also setting the fastest lap of the weekend. The points earned over the course of the event moved Alex up to 6th place in the championship, just 20 points away from 3rd place in a points structure where 50 points are awarded for a win. They’ve also seen Alex move to the lead of the Rookie Cup, for drivers new to the Cooper Pro class for 2019.

Having never raced at Croft previously, the 25 year old is relishing the challenge of learning a new circuit with the Lawrence Davey Racing team.

“Croft is a new circuit for me, but with the confidence boost of the Brands Hatch weekend under my belt it’s a challenge I find exciting rather than daunting. We’ve shown we have the pace now, and I can’t wait to try to put it to good use over the weekend!”

The weekend will feature two races, on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August respectively.
