Canterbury City 1st Team Manager Simon Pettit and 1st Team Assistant Luke Farmer have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.

A statement on the club’s official website reads:

“The Board of Canterbury City FC can confirm that on Wednesday Simon Pettit was relieved of his duties as 1st Team manager. A caretaker management team is already in place.”

“Whilst not a decision the Board would have wished to take they felt that following recent poor performances which did nothing to reassure that the poor pre-season was behind the 1st team set up, that a change sooner rather than later saw the best chance of the Club returning to competitive ways.”

“The Board wishes Simon the best for the future.”
