Canterbury City 1-0 Southall FC
Canterbury City 1-0 Southall FC

Surprisingly the game was played after the torrential rain the night before however the pitch passed the 11:00 inspection.

This Fa Vase Cup game proved to live up to expectations, as both teams came out aggressive and kept the tough intensity throughout the game.
However the conditions meant it was a scrappy game, due to the players slipping and the wind dragging the ball in the air.
The 90 minutes was very uneventful with very few chances going to Southall however they were hopeless in the shooting department.
So the game went to extra time proving a repeat of the first 90.
The deadlock was finally broken with a very scrappy goal which was to be expected. A long thrown came into the box with multiple heads back and forth until it falls to Robbie Lawrence, the substitute, who heads it past the keeper to send Canterbury City through to the round of 32 for the first time in their history.
