Canterbury bring in four new signings

Canterbury Head of Rugby Andy Pratt has added four new recruits to his senior squad ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Coming to the Marine Travel Ground are back row men Tyler Oliver and Sean Stapleton together with hooker Tristan King. Former Blackheath centre Ed Oram will be another new face as training for the 2018/19 season starts this week.

Oliver is a major capture who has played for Cardiff Blues and is a product of the Blues feeder club Bedlinog.

Stapleton is a highly experienced openside flanker whose career includes time with Irish province Connacht, while King also has Ireland connections with the Malone club and Ulster Academy.

The recruiting process is ongoing as Andy Pratt also looks to build more strength in depth in his back division.

“We’re very pleased with the quality of the signings we have secured so far, “ said Pratt.

“Tyler, Tristan and Ed are very promising young players who will increase the competition for places which can only be a good thing. Sean is a proven competitor at this level and will add leadership and great experience to a young squad.”
