Bromley vs Shrewsbury Town – Preview

Top of the table Bromley are back in League Two action at Hayes Lane tonight when they take on Shrewsbury Town in front of a near sell-out crowd and the Sky Sports cameras.

The Ravens go into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw away at Barnet on Good Friday, thanks to goals from Nicke Kabamba and a dramatic injury time equaliser from George Evans.

With results elsewhere going their way over the Easter weekend, the draw left Bromley top of League Two with 80 points from 41 games, six points clear of Cambridge Utd in fourth with five games to play.

Shrewsbury make the trip over from Shropshire sitting in eighteenth place with 44 points from 41 matches, eleven points clear of Barrow in twenty third.

The Shrews won their first game in five on Good Friday when Gavin Cowan’s side overcame Tranmere Rovers 1-0 at home courtesy of a second half goal from Sam Stubbs.

When the teams met on the opening game of the season at The Croud Meadow, the match ended 0-0, but Shrewsbury have had a difficult season since, changing managers in January and struggling towards the bottom of the table, but a run of six wins in seven games over February and March saw them ease any relegation worries.

Andy Woodman is still without Michael Cheek, Jesse Debrah and Ben Thompson, but Kyle Cameron did return to the defence on Friday. Woodman’s side go into the game knowing that a win could well take them very close to achieving an historic promotion to League One.

Kick Off is at 8pm.
