Bromley begin life under new manager Karl Robinson on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Rotherham Utd in the FA Cup first round at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens go into the game sitting bottom of League One after Andy Woodman’s sacking last month, interim boss Byron Webster had overseen one draw and two defeats in his time in charge, the latest being a 3-2 loss at struggling Wigan Athletic last Saturday, which saw Bromley slip to the foot of the table with 9 points from 13 league matches. Now Robinson has the chance to kick off his tenure with a win and lift the mood among the Bromley supporters.
Injuries have certainly not helped with Bromley’s form, the latest being Adam Jackson and Ben Thompson who both were forced out at Wigan adding to a growing list including Deon Woodman, Chanse Headman, Jacob Mendy, Shamal George and Ashley Charles.
Rotherham Utd are also struggling in League Two after being relegated last season. The Millers currently sit twenty second in the table with 12 points from 14 games. Manager Alex Bruce saw his side lose 2-1 away at Swindon Town last weekend.
Bruce and Robinson worked together at Salford City last season.
The teams met in the FA Cup back in 2021 when Rotherham were in League One and Bromley were in the National League, The Millers winning 3-0, but a lot has changed since then at both clubs.
With both sides needing a morale boost amidst tough league campaigns, and in Bromley’s case growing uncertainty about the club’s future direction, they will be keen to progress and pick up some valuable prize money along the way.
Tickets are on sale from the official Bromley FC website, the fact that they are full price may have had some effect on the attendance, but Robinson’s appointment may increase the interest.
