Bromley vs Oldham Athletic – Preview

In form Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Oldham Athletic at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens go into the game having won their last three matches and are unbeaten in six, last Saturday they won 4-1 at home to Maidenhead Utd, which took Andy Woodman’s team up to ninth in the table on 12 points from 8 games played. Michael Cheek notching two with Sam Woods & Louis Dennis also scoring.

Oldham travel down sitting in seventeenth place with nine points from 8 matches, David Unsworth’s side haven’t won in six, drawing four of these games. On Saturday they drew 0-0 at home to Dorking Wanderers.

Oldham are in their second season at this level and were the first former Premier League side to have dropped into Non League Football, but with stable ownership and management now in place they were expected to challenge for a return to the Football League this campaign.

When the sides met at Hayes Lane last September, Bromley won 3-0 with goals from Omar Sowunmi, Reece Hannam and an own goal, in the reverse fixture at Boundary Park in April the game ended 1-1, Joe Nuttall putting The Latics in front with James Vennings equalising for The Ravens late on.

Sam Woods and Josh Passley both had to go off injured in the Maidenhead game, while new loan signing Ryan Jones was injured in training last week, joining Mitchel Bergkamp on the absentees list.

Andy Woodman does now have a number of options though, following last weeks loan arrivals, but he was keen not to thrown them in too early, but rather when they are up to the physical rigours of National League football.
