Table topping Bromley start 2026 with a League Two home game against Newport County at Hayes Lane on Thursday afternoon, looking to continue their run of form, which saw them win every game in December.

The Ravens go into the game at the halfway point of the campaign top of the League Two table with 45 points from 23 games. Last Monday Andy Woodman’s team won 3-1 away at Crawley Town with Michael Cheek scoring a hat-trick, taking his tally up to twelve for the season so far.
Bromley have recorded five consecutive victories, which has moved them to the summit of the fourth tier, their highest placing in the club’s short EFL history. Woodman was full of praise for his players who now have two homes games in four days following the Boxing Day win at Bristol Rovers and Monday’s success.
Newport County make the journey across from South Wales sitting in twenty third place with 17 points from 23 league matches, last time out Christian Fuchs’ side won 2-0 at home to Crewe Alexandra thanks to goals from Courtney Baker-Richardson and Sammy Braybrooke. This was The Exiles first win under their new manager who took charge of the team in late November, drawing three matches and losing four in all competitions so far. There were signs of improvement in the 0-0 draw at home to Barnet on Boxing Day, followed up by Monday’s much needed victory. Fuchs said he was proud of his teams performance and was looking to now build momentum going into 2026.
When the sides met last season, Bromley won the Christmas period game 5-2 at home, while the away game at Rodney Parade in April ended 1-1, Michael Cheek equalising for The Ravens with Cameron Evans having put County in front.
A large New Years Day crowd is expected at Hayes Lane for this one, with Bromley looking to stay at the top of the table and Newport hoping to pick up another win which could move them out of the bottom two. Kick off is at 3pm.
