Bromley vs MK Dons – Preview

Bromley are back in League Two action at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon when they take on promotion challengers Milton Keynes Dons.

The Ravens go into the game having won only once in their last seven league games, but still just four points of the play off places, sitting in thirteenth with 18 points from 13 matches.

Last weekend Andy Woodman’s side lost 2-1 away at Cambridge United, trailing 2-0 at half time Michael Cheek scored his seventh goal of the season for Bromley, but they couldn’t find an equaliser. Woodman making four changes at half time and reverting to three at the back for the second half.

MK Dons travel down from Buckinghamshire sitting in third with 24 points from 13 league games, last time out Paul Warne’s side won 3-1 at home to Crewe Alexandra, courtesy of goals from Will Collar and two from Alex Gilbey.

After an inconsistent start to the campaign, The Dons have won four league games in a row and have started to show the form that had them tipped as many people’s promotion favourites at the start of the season.

Bromley have former MK Dons midfielder Brooklyn Ilunga in their squad who has showed plenty of promise when given the chance and will be hoping for a chance to play against his old employees. Captain Byron Webster comes back into contention after suspension, while Kyle Cameron may be a doubt after picking up an injury at Cambridge.

When the teams met last season, the game at Hayes Lane in September ended 1-1, Michael Cheek on target for The Ravens after Joseph Tomlinson had put MK in front early on. While Bromley won 1-0 at Stadium MK in February thanks to a second half goal from Ben Thompson.

Tickets have been selling fast for this one, with over 3,000 gone by Thursday morning, the new East Terrace being partially open for the second home match increasing the capacity at Hayes Lane to over 4,000.

This looks set to be a tough assignment for Bromley, but that’s often when they come into their own and defy the odds.

Kick off is 3pm.
