Bromley vs Hemel Hempstead Town – Preview

Bromley start their FA Trophy campaign for this season with a Third Round tie at home to Hemel Hempstead Town on Tuesday night at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens go in to the game after a week off following their 1-0 win At Solihull Moors the previous weekend, due to postponement of Hemel’s second round tie at Corinthian Casuals.

Last Tuesday. The game was eventually played on Saturday with The Royals winning on penalties after a 0-0 draw with the Isthmian League Premier Division side. Hemel currently sit tenth in National League South with 16 points from 13 games, having drawn only once in the league so far this season.

Bromley sit third in the National League with 22 points from 14 matches played, but Neil Smith’s side have struggled at home this campaign losing 5 times including cup matches.

With squad players needing game time and a busy league schedule coming up over Christmas, Smith may rotate his squad for this one to keep things fresh.

Lee Bircham’s Hemel side have been on a good run of late and will be keen to cause an upset against opposition from a division higher. The last time the teams met at Hayes Lane was back in 2014 when The Royals won 1-0 in Conference South, with the sides drawing 1-1 in the reverse fixture the following March.

With most of the south east in Tier 4, games continue to be played behind closed doors, but supporters can watch the game via the club’s excellent live streaming service for £9.99, details of how to purchase this are on the Bromley FC website.
