Bromley vs Chorley preview

Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Chorley at Hayes Lane, with both teams looking for a much needed win.

The Ravens are looking to build on their point they picked up away at second place Harrogate Town last weekend, drawing 1-1 live on BT Sport thanks to a late own goal, which took Neil Smith side up to 52 points from 38 games played,  Bromley now sit in thirteenth place, but still only three points off the top seven play off spots.

Chorley travel down from Lancashire sitting bottom of the table, with 26 points from their 28 matches played, 17 points from safety. Jamie Vermiglio’s side have struggled to get used to life back at this level having been promoted from Conference North last season, last Saturday they lost 2-1 at home to Chesterfield, their fifth consecutive defeat.

Both The Ravens and The Magpies are struggling for form at the moment, Bromley haven’t won in ten matches since the New Year’s Day 3-0 win over Dover Athletic, while Chorley are without a victory in seventeen matches going back to 30th November when they beat Dagenham & Redbridge 1-0 at home.

Bromley manager Neil Smith is still targeting the play offs and backing his team to re-discover the form that took them top of the table for a long spell at the start of the season. His attacking options were boosted by the return of Adam Mekki from a loan spell at Ebbsfleet Utd, the winger making an immediate return to the starting line up at Harrogate.

When the sides met in August, on the opening day of the season at Victory Park, it ended 0-0 and this match looks set to be equally as tight, with both teams desperate for points and hoping to find some good form going into the final stretch of the National League campaign.
