Bromley vs Cheltenham Town – Preview

Top of the table Bromley look to continue their unbeaten home record for the season in League Two when they take on Cheltenham Town at Hayes Lane on Tuesday night.

Bromley go into the game having drawn 1-1 at home to promotion rivals Notts County last Saturday, taking the lead via an own goal before conceding a second half penalty. The draw left Andy Woodman’s team on 63 points from 31 games, four points clear of Cambridge Utd in second place and five clear of Notts in fourth.

Cheltenham Town make the journey across from Gloucestershire sitting in eighteenth place with 31 points 30 matches, last weekend The Robins drew 0-0 at Barnet, which ended a run of five straight defeats for Steve Cotterill’s team.

When the teams met at Whaddon Road back in August, Bromley won 2-1, Omar Sowunmi & Michael Cheek with the goals for The Ravens, before Josh Martin pulled one back for Cheltenham. Since then, Cheltenham have changed manager, with Steve Cotterill coming back to the club, which saw an upturn in results that moved them away from the bottom two up to relative safety, although they have struggled more again recently.

Last season’s meeting at Hayes Lane in May ended with Bromley winning 3-0, Michael Cheek scoring twice with Nicke Kabamba grabbing the other for The Ravens. Andy Woodman’s side will be aiming for a similar performance this time round, while Cheltenham will be hoping to build on their impressive point at Barnet.

Tickets are available from the official Bromley FC website. Kick-off is 7:45pm.
