Bromley vs Boreham Wood – Preview

High flying Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Boreham Wood at Hayes Lane.

Last weekend The Ravens progressed through to the final sixteen of the FA Trophy with a penalty shoot out win over Chippenham Town following a 1-1 draw, Ben Krauhaus was again on target for Andy Woodman’s team who also converted all four of their penalties taken.

Bromley currently sit second in the National League with 56 points from 28 games played, 12 points behind leaders Chesterfield, one point in front of Barnet in third and crucially 10 points ahead of Solihull Moors in fourth. A finishing position that would see The Ravens have home advantage in the play off semi finals.

Boreham Wood’s scheduled game at Oldham Athletic on Tuesday night was postponed, which means Luke Garrard’s team haven’t played since 7th January when they drew 1-1 at home to York City, former Bromley defender Chris Bush with the opening goal for The Wood, before they conceded an injury time equaliser.

Having been play off challengers for the past few seasons Wood have struggled more this campaign and currently sit fifteenth in the table with 32 points from 27 league games, 9 points off the top seven. Lee Ndlovu is their top scorer with seven, while Michael Cheek has nothed thriteen for Bromley.

When the teams met at Meadow Park in November the match ended 1-1, Boreham Wood equalising late on through Erico Esteves Sousa after Olufela Olomola had put Bromley in front late in the first half.

This game looks set to be equally as tight between two familiar foes who were both promoted to Non League’s top flight in 2015.
