Two familiar foes meet again on Monday night at Hayes Lane when Bromley entertain AFC Wimbledon in a League One fixture.

Bromley go into the game sitting in twenty first place with four points from four games, after a promising start to life in the third-tier Andy Woodman’s men have suffered two heavy defeats losing 7-2 at Sheffield Wednesday and 5-0 at home to Leyton Orient last Tuesday. Manager Andy Woodman has spoken of his new squad’s need to understand the ‘Bromley Way’ and to grow up quickly and be more aggressive in their play.

Just before the Orient game Bromley signed attacking midfielder Jodie Jones from Notts County after a much speculation about the move, the Maltese International finally put pen to paper.    

Wimbledon go into the game in nineteenth with the same points tally from four league matches. Last week The Dons lost 4-1 away at Burton Albion, Stockley with their solitary goal. Manager Johnny Jackson has said he is looking into why his side’s away form is so different from their home performances.  

Bromley and AFC Wimbledon were regular opponents in their non-league days, before The Dons moved up into the National League and then EFL, but The Ravens then followed suit a few seasons later and they now meet again, this time in League One of the Football League. AFC scored their first ever goal as a new club at Hayes Lane, back in 2002 in a friendly game, which ended 2-1 to The Ravens.  

When the sides last met in League Two, with The Dons in their way to promotion, Bromley won both league matches by a single goal, 2-1 and 1-0, while Wimbledon won 2-1 at Hayes Lane in the League Cup.   

With both teams in need of points to get their campaigns started, this game already has a lot riding on it only five games into the season and promised to be and enthralling match up under the lights, in front of a packed Hayes Lane.
