Bromley v Woking preview

With no let up in the National League fixtures schedule Bromley are back in action again this Tuesday night when they take on Woking at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Halifax Town on Saturday, not helped by the red card for Liam Trotter and an injury to young winger Harry Forster.

The defeat left Neil Smith’s men in fourteenth place with 22 points from 15 games, but still only 3 points off the play off places.

Woking sit one place lower with the same points total, but having played two games more, on Saturday Paul Doswell’s side drew 0-0 at home to Maidenhead Utd.

Bromley and Woking only met last midweek at the same venue in the FA Trophy, with The Cards coming out on top in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.

Michael Cheek putting The Ravens in front from the spot, before Max Kretzschmar equalised only minutes later.

Bromley’s home form will be a real concern to Smith, with his team undefeated away from Hayes Lane this season, but having lost five league matches and two cup ties on their own 3G surface.

With Trotter suspended and Forster an injury doubt there will be some enforced changes to the Bromley starting line up on Tuesday, midfielder Jack Bridge made his debut against Halifax after signing the previous day and another new arrival Charlie Wakefield made his first appearance from the bench as Smith looks to replace wide man Reeco Hackett-Fairchild whose loan deal has ended and the injured Luke Coulson who has been a massive creative loss for The Ravens.

The game looks set to be another close one if last week’s meeting is anything to go by and both teams will be looking to keep in touch with the congested play off spots with games coming thick and fast over the new few weeks.

This match takes place behind closed doors as per the Covid restrictions, but fans can view the game via the excellent streaming service for £9.99. Details on how to purchase this are on the Bromley FC official website.
