Bromley v Weston Super Mare preview

Bromley entertain Weston Super Mare at Hayes Lane on Saturday in the knowledge that a win would secure their first league title since 1961.

Anthony Cook scores to make it 1-1

That in turn will see promotion to the Conference Premier for the first time in the club’s 123 year history.

The Ravens won a tight encounter with Eastbourne Borough last weekend 2-1 and with off field problems resolved there is only one issue to focus on for the club and its fans going into the last two league fixtures.

Fellow title challengers Havant Waterlooville & Basingstoke Town play each other this Saturday, while Boreham Wood have a week off, which means two more points would guarantee the league trophy coming to Bromley.

With a marked improvement in the home form of late Mark Goldberg has challenged his players to become heroes on Saturday and it’s expected to be a bumper crowd for the final home game of the season, with advanced ticket sales to ease the queues at the turnstiles.

On the injury front, the side were without key defenders Rob Swaine and Ugo Udoji last week and they will be sorely missed if this is still the case at the weekend, but going forward the management have a wealth of good options competing for a start including Moses Ademola, Jamie Slabber, Pierre Joseph-Dubois, Ben May, Brad Goldberg, Anthony Cook & Louis Dennis.

In the reverse fixture at Weston in December Bromley won 1-0 thanks to a first half goal from Damien Scannell and a similar result on Saturday would do nicely for the Hayes Lane faithful, securing promotion before the difficult final day trip to Gosport Borough on 25 April.
