Bromley v Solihull Moors preview

Bromley return to National League action on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Solihull Moors at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens had their New Year Bank Holiday trip to Southend United cancelled due to Covid cases in The Shrimpers squad and other results saw Andy Woodman’s side slip to seventh in the table with 38 points from 21 league matches, so they will be keen to get back in action.

In their last fixture of 2021 Bromley lost 1-0 away to Maidenhead United, this followed on from a 1-1 draw at home to Southend on Boxing Day.

On the playing side Nathan Tormey has left the club after an injury hit spell, Kory Roberts remains out on loan, but Billy Bingham made a return to the starting line up at Maidenhead and recent signing Palace Francis was on the bench.

Solihull Moors make the trip down from the Midlands sitting two places and two points behind Bromley, Mark Yates’ side have also picked up just one point from their last two matches, on Monday they lost 1-0 at home to Stockport County, having previously drew 0-0 at Eastleigh.

When the sides met at Hayes Lane in March last season Bromley won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Joe Kizzi, a game that would prove to be Neil Smith’s last in charge of The Ravens.

The win completed the double over The Moors with a Michael Cheek goal winning the game at Damson Park in December.

This match looks set to be equally as tight with both teams keen to keep in touch with the play offs and turn round some disappointing recent results.

Kick off is 3pm and tickets are available in advance from the official Bromley FC website.
