Bromley v Solihull Moors preview

After Tuesday night’s 2-1 win at Yeovil Town, Bromley are back in National League action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Solihull Moors at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens won their first ever game at Huish Park thanks to an injury time own goal, having gone in front with Michael Cheek’s seventeenth goal of the season early in the second half, only to be pegged back by a Rhys Murphy penalty, before in the 94th minute Reuben Reid headed Frankie Raymond’s fee kick into his own net.

The victory took Neil Smith’s side up to eighth in the table, just one point off the play off places with 41 points from 27 league matches, winning three and drawing on of their last five.

Solihull Moors make the trip down from the Midlands sitting in seventeenth with 32 points from 25 National League games, Moors recently changed manager with Mark Yates returning to the dugout in an attempt to turn their form around.

Moors have lost three and drawn two of their last five matches, they were without a game in midweek, but last Saturday they lost 1-0 at Halifax Town conceding a penalty just after half time.

When the teams met at Damson Park in December live on BT Sport, Bromley won the game 1-0 with a goal from Cheek just before half time and when they met at Hayes Lane last season the match ended 2-2, with The Ravens coming back from two down thanks to goals from Frankie Raymond and Corey Whitely.

Bromley have yet to win back to back National League matches this season and will need to do so quickly to maintain a play off challenge in the increasingly congested middle third of the table, where six point separates 6th from 14th with just over half of the league campaign completed.

Defender Chris Bush will be available for selection again after his ban, although Jack Holland may be a doubt after he was take off injured late on against Yeovil and midfielder Billy Bingham hasn’t featured in the last three, although Taylor Maloney has formed an impressive link up with Liam Trotter in the centre of the pitch.

The match looks set to be another close encounter with Bromley keen to keep their good run of form going and Solihull looking to turn things around under their new manager.

The game will be played behind closed doors due to Covid 19 restrictions, but a live stream can be viewed by supporters for £9.99 from the official Bromley FC website.
