Bromley begin their FA Trophy campaign for 2023/24 on Saturday with a Third Round tie against National League South team Slough Town at Hayes Lane.

Bromley go in to the game sitting second in the National League with 45 points from 22 games played. Last weekend Andy Woodman’s side won 1-0 at home to Rochdale with a goal from Olufela Olomola ten minutes from time.

On Tuesday night The Ravens travelled to Met Police in the London Senior Cup om Tuesday, but fielded a team made up entirely of Under 21 players losing on penalties after a 2-2 draw, leaving the Trophy as the only cup competition The Ravens are left in.

Andy Woodman has said he wants to take the FA Trophy seriously this season, but it is expected that he may make some changes to the team with other squad players needing game time and a top three finish in the National League being the main focus of the campaign.

Slough Town make the trip down from Berkshire sitting nineteenth in NL South with 22 points from 18 league matches, but on a decent run form form.

Last Saturday The Rebels were without a game, but the week before they won 3-0 at home to Braintree Town with goals from Johnny Goddard, Nathan Minhas, and Mikel Platt, before a much changed team lost 5-1 away at Flackwell Heath in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup the following Tuesday.

In the previous round Scott Davies’ side knocked out Farnborough 2-1 at home, Nathan Minhas and Johnny Goddard on target for The Rebels that day.

The two sides haven’t met since the 2006/07 season when Bromley were promoted from Isthmian League Premier Division and Slough Town, who were then ground sharing at Windsor & Eton, were relegated. The games ending 4-0 & 8-0 to The Ravens.

Since then The Rebels have returned to their home town playing in a new stadium and moved back up the pyramid. Bromley striker George Alexander had a good loan spell at Slough earlier this season before being moved to Dartford.
