Bromley v Salford City preview

Bromley are back in League Two action again on Saturday afternoon when they take on Salford City at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens go into the game in good form, still unbeaten at home in the league this season and on the back of a 2-1 home win over Barrow last weekend.

Marcus Ifill and Nike Kabamba were on the scoresheet for Andy Woodman’s men against The Bluebirds, which took the Hayes Lane club up to fifth in the table with 27 points from 16 matches.

Salford City travel down from Greater Manchester sitting in ninth, just one point behind Bromley, with 26 points from 16 league games.

The Ammies lost 2-0 away at MK Dons last Saturday and a recent inconsistency in form has seen Karl Robinson’s side slip away from the top three.

The teams have only met four times previously, The Ammies winning three of them, with Bromley yet to record a win.

Last season the sides battled out a 3-3 draw at The Peninsula Stadium in February after The Ravens had lead 3-0 on the hour, while at Hayes Lane in March the game ended in a 3-2 win for Salford. Cole Stockton scoring twice, Kelly N’Mai with the other for City, Bromley’s goals coming from Michael Cheek and an own goal.

The game looks set to be equally as close, with Andy Woodman billing this match as one of a number of ‘cup finals’ for his side as they target a sustained challenge for automatic promotion, while Salford will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the congested table that has only 5 points between tenth place and the leaders.

Kick off is at 3pm, tickets are available from the official Bromley website.
