Bromley v Dover Athletic – Preview

After Tuesday night’s disappointing result at home to Aldershot Town, Bromley are back in National League action at Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Dover Athletic in a Kent derby.

The Ravens suffered a 2-0 defeat to promotion chasing Aldershot in midweek and will need to pick up something from this match to keep in touch with the play off positions.

Neil Smith will be without the injured Ben Chorley and Jordan Higgs who was sent off late in the game against The Shots, plus there are also injury doubts over Adam Mekki and Roger Johnson who had to sit things out with a knock on Tuesday along with Tarshan Adeyinka who has not featured in the last two matches. Ben Wynter, Iffy Allen and Dominic Vose will all be hoping to get the nod to start against Dover having spent their time on the subs bench recently.

Chris Kinnear’s side have lost their last two games 1-0, away to Dagenham & Redbridge and home to AFC Fylde, but prior to that had been in good form. The Whites currently sit in sixth with 37 points from 22games, while Bromley are two points and two places behind from the same number of matches.

The two sides have met three times already this season with Bromley coming out on top 2-1 in the league away from home before drawing 0-0 at The Crabble in the FA Cup and winning the replay 3-0 at Hayes Lane.

With the teams very familiar to each other and both looking to bounce back from disappointing results this should be a tight, hard fought encounter between clubs from either end of the county.
