The ‘sold out’ signs are already up at Hayes Lane for this Saturday afternoon’s match, as Bromley take on old foes Chesterfield in a League Two game between two sides who have made solid starts to the new season.

Bromley go into the game having lost for the first time in the league this campaign last Saturday, 1-0 away to Oldham Athletic. The defeat left Andy Woodman’s men in seventh place with 13 points from 8 games.
Manchester City loanee Lakyle Samuel made his debut off the bench at Boundary Park on a frustrating afternoon for Bromley who came close to a late equaliser from Ben Thompson, who saw his dipping shot tipped over by Matt Hudson and the keeper then did even better to deny Marcus Dinanga.
Chesterfield sit one place above The Ravens with 14 points from 8 games, last weekend Andy Cook’s side drew 1-1 at home to MK Dons, Tom Naylor with the late equaliser for The Spireites.
Chesterfield have won four and drawn two so far, but haven’t won in League Two since 23rd August. They were dealt a blow last week when their Assistant Manager Danny Webb left to become manager of Yeovil Town.
Among the Chesterfield squad is former Bromley loanee Ryan Stirk who had a very impressive spell at Hayes Lane two years ago.
The teams were regular opponents in the National League and were both promoted to League Two in 2024. When they met last season in the EFL, it finished 2-2 at Hayes Lane in October, while The Spireites won 3-0 in the reverse fixture in January.
Bromley eventually finishing eleventh and Chesterfield seventh. This game promises to be another fiercely contested match up, with both teams looking to maintain their places around the top seven going into the Autumn.
With the capacity at Hayes Lane reduced to 3,100 while the construction of the East Stand continues, all the tickets have already sold out for this game.
