Bromley v Chesterfield preview

Bromley face another massive game in their National League play off challenge on Saturday afternoon when they entertain in form Chesterfield at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens picked up four points from their last two matches winning 3-0 at Gateshead before drawing 1-1 at Halifax Town on Tuesday night, with Michael Cheek scoring the equaliser for Bromley.

The draw kept them in seventh place, the final play off place, on 67 points from 44 games played, two points in front of Eastleigh with a far superior goal difference and four in front of Southend Utd.

Andy Woodman’s side are on an unbeaten run of seven games, hitting form at exactly the right time, as is Cheek who has now scored 15 goals this campaign.

Chesterfield go into the game on the back of a 5-1 win over Torquay Utd in midweek which moved them on to 81 points from 44 matches in third place.

Andrew Dallas with a hatrick, Ollie Banks and Liam Mandeville scoring the other two. Dallas, who took a while to settle following his move from Solihull, now also hitting some good form at a crucial time.

Paul Cook’s team have won their last three and will be looking to secure their place just behind the top two ahead of Woking in the play off zone.

When the teams met in the reverse fixture back in October, Chesterfield won 3-2, Jeff King, Ollie Banks and Kabongo Tshimanga on target for The Spireites, while Adam Marriott notched a double for Bromley.

This game looks set to be equally as close with both teams needing points to help cement their final place in the post season games.

A big crowd is expected for this one and tickets can be purchased in advance from the Bromley FC website, with prices increasing on the match day.
