Bromley v Chesterfield preview

Having moved into the National League play off places on Saturday, Bromley now look to consolidate that position on Tuesday night when they entertain eighth placed Chesterfield at Hayes Lane.

Bromley v Dagenham & Redbridge, Vanarama National League, Hayes Lane, 10 April 2021

The Ravens won 2-1 away to Halifax Town at the weekend thanks to goals from Michael Cheek & James Alabi, the victory taking them up to sixth place with 55 points from 35 matches played and continued their unbeaten run under new manager Andy Woodman to six games, winning the last four.

Chesterfield travel down from Derbyshire on the back of a 0-0 draw with Wrexham on Saturday, The Spirerites are without a win in four games and have dropped out of the top seven with 53 points from 34 games, although they have just signed a proven goal scorer in Danny Rowe, who did so well at AFC Fylde in previous seasons.

Chesterfield manager James Rowe will be hoping his namesake Danny can provide the striking option they lost with the injury to top scorer Akwasi Asante three game ago.

The two sides only met ten days ago in the reverse fixture, when Bromley won 2-1 away with goals from Michael Cheek & Joe Kizzi either side of a strike from Laurence Maguire for Chesterfield and this game looks set to be equally as tight with so much at stake.

Woodman is still with out the injured defensive partnership of Jack Holland & Byron Webster as well as midfielder Taylor Maloney, but Chris Bush has flourished in his new role as team captain & centre back, new signing Charlie Fox has settled in well at left back and loanees Alex Mitchell & Tate Campbell have done well as they get their first taste of senior adult football.

Cheek has now scored 22 this season, including the two against Dover, and Alabi is now staking a real claim for a start next to him with his form.

Both teams will be looking for the three points as they enter the final month of the regular campaign, hoping to secure a play off spot.

The game will take place behind closed doors as per the current Covid 19 Restrictions, but supporters can purchase the excellent live stream service from the official Bromley FC website for £9.99.
