Bromley v Chester preview

Bromley return to National League action at Hayes Lane on Saturday when they entertain Chester.

Both sides are looking for a few more points to be certain of safety from relegation and will be hoping to bounce back from defeats last time out.

The Ravens, who have only won two of their last ten games, lost 1-0 at Dover last weekend, while Chester lost 3-2 at home to Macclesfield on Tuesday night and have only won twice this year.

Recent arrival in goal Ross Flitney had his best game so far for the club and the keeper kept his side in the game, so much so that they nearly grabbed an equaliser late on when Alan Dunne had a header cleared off the line.

On Thursday Neil Smith added stirker Shane McLaughlin on loan from Ipswich Town to the squad while sending Dave Martin out to Margate to see out his contract.

The sides sit two places apart in the league, just below mid-table with Bromley on 49pts from 38played while Chester have 46pts from their 37 matches. When they met at The Diva Stadium in November it ended in a 1-1 draw and the match is expected to be equally as close again.

With the International break in force and decent weather forecast there should be a good crowd at The Lane for this one as Neil Smith’s side look to top the magic 51points mark.

After the game the club are hosting a quiz night with each team entering allocated a player to join their table as they test their knowledge.
