Bromley v Boreham Wood preview

Bromley play their first Saturday home game of the season this weekend when they entertain high flying Boreham Wood in the National League at Hayes Lane.

The Ravens go in to the game having picked up a point away at Chesterfield last Saturday, drawing 2-2 thanks to two Michael Cheek goals, the equaliser coming deep into injury time, having taken the lead in the first half before falling behind.

Andy Woodman’s team have picked up four points from their opening three games, one league match behind most teams due to the postponement of their opening day fixture and sit in fifteenth place.

Boreham Wood travel down from Herts in third place, with ten points from four games, having won their first three matches before drawing 0-0 at home to Stockport County last weekend.

Manager Luke Garrard has made a number of changes to his squad over the summer and brought in a few familiar faces to Bromley fans with ex-Ravens Josh Rees, Frankie Raymond and Adrian Clifton all in the squad, while Corey Whitely has made the journey in the opposite direction.

Bromley are still settling in a large number of new recruits to the squad also, striker George Alexander is still suspended, but James Alabi is striking up a good partnership with top scorer Cheek.

Historically games between The Ravens and The Wood have been tight, when the sides met last season both games ended 1-1 and this looks set to be equally as close fought on Saturday.

Tickets must be purchased on-line in advance for the game from the Bromley website.
