Bromley set for new faces

With just under a month to go before Bromley’s first competitive fixture of 2026/27 kicks off with a home game against Reading in the League Cup, there is still a lot fans don’t know about what the team will look like for the coming season.

Bromley have so far announced just the signing of midfielder Kamil Conteh, although they do have an open training session at Hayes Lane on Saturday, where there is speculation that some new faces may be revealed.

In the last week Idris Odutayo has joined Dundee and Jude Arthurs has signed for Crawley Town having rejected new offers from Bromley, while Kyle Cameron had his contract terminated allowing him to join Newport County, but no new have been announced as yet.

Including loan players, there were over a dozen departures from the squad that achieved promotion and the League Two title in May, which has given manager Andy Woodman a lot of recruiting to do for the new campaign. It’s expected that there will be a number of loan signings coming in again as The Ravens Gaffer uses his extensive contact book to bolster his squad, but they tend to be as the season starts or later in August/early September rather than now.

Woodman’s track records over the last five years should give Bromley fans confidence that all is in hand and that he will assemble another competitive squad for what is a huge challenge fort the club on an off the pitch in the third tier of English football, but there are certainly a few slightly panicked messages on social media from supporters who were hoping to announcements of new recruits.

The Ravens travel to Portugal for a match with West Bromwich Albion on 17th July and they then return to Hayes Lane for pre-season home games with Crystal Palace, Millwall, QPR and Liverpool’s Under 21s, prior to the League Cup game with Reading.

Their first ever League One match will be away at Barnsley on 15th August, by which time fans will be familiar with new faces and have an idea of how the new squad is shaping up for the challenge ahead.
