Bromley FC have now completed their pre-season games and are set to kick off the 2026/27 campaign with a home game against Reading in the League Cup on Saturday afternoon at Hayes Lane.

It’s been a busy summer for Andy Woodman as he prepares his new look squad for their debut League One season, bringing in ten new players to the squad either on permanent deals or loans, with one or two more additions still expected before the transfer window closes.    

Coming into Hayes Lane are keeper Shamal George, defenders Chanse Headman, Richard Taylor, Jacob Mendy, Deon Woodman and Kamarl Grant on loan, midfielders Kamil Conteh, JJ McKiernan and Ethon Archer on loan and striker Victor Adeboyajo.     

Pre-season results have seen a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, 1-1 draws with Millwall and Barnet, plus defeats against QPR 7-0 and West Bromwich Albion 4-1.

There were also behind closed doors games with Chelsea and Sporting Lison B, which both ended in defeat for The Ravens. The final scheduled game against Liverpool U21s this Wednesday was cancelled by the Merseyside giants last week, with the club to advise on refund details for purchased tickets shortly.      

Shamal George looks set to start in goal for Bromley with Grant Smith having picked up an injury in the Portugal training camp and there was also an injury concern with Deon Woodman after the Millwall game.

On the positive side is top scorer Michael Cheek had returned to action, having last featured for the first team in March before picking up an injury and influential midfielder Ashley Charles has sign ed a new deal until 2029.          

Tickets for the Reading game have been reduced to £15 for adults, £12 for OAPs, £9 for under 17s and £6 for under 13s. They and can be purchased in advance from the official Bromley website, kick off on Saturday is at 3pm.
