Bromley 6-1 Maidenhead United

Bromley went back to the top of the table with an impressive display against struggling Maidenhead at a blustery Hayes Lane.Bromley v Ebbsfleet

They cashed in on Eastleigh’s draw at Staines, but the elation was somewhat tempered by injuries to three defenders.

The Ravens started well and had most of the early play, but it was The Magpies who had the best chance when Danny Green’s free kick just went over.

Bromley finally turned their possession into chances when Pierre Joseph-Dubois had an effort tipped away by Yannick Nlate, but minutes later the keeper was only able to parry Brendan Kiernan’s shot and Bradley Goldberg pounced on the loose ball to make it 1-0 on 27 minutes.

The Ravens extended the lead on 43 minutes when Joe Anderson’s free kick was headed home by Dubois.

With the visitors reeling Dubois made it 3-0 just before the break with an emphatic finish past Nlate from ten yards out.

Maidenhead started the second half on top, Harry Grant forced a save from Joe Welch, before going one better on 52 minutes sweeping home to make it 3-1.

Any chances of a comeback were halted on 64 minutes when former Bromley & Gillingham player Jacob Erskine playing at centre back fouled Goldberg and a pin point Anderson free kick was volleyed home by Jay May.

The visitors were reduced to ten men on 68 minutes when Leon Solomon was harshly red carded for a scything foul on Goldberg just inside the box.

Goldberg despatched the spot kick to make it 5-1 and had another chance soon after which Nlate saved well.

Mark Goldberg had to re-jig his defence with Swaine, Bailey-Dennis & Poolley all going off with knocks.

The Magpies still had chances with Reece Tilson-Lascaris and Green both hitting the post, but the final goal came in the last minute when Louis Dennis curled in a sublime effort just under the bar from the edge of the box.

The Ravens now travel to Staines Town on Tuesday hoping that the back four will be fit enough to start again and continue the good run.
