Bromley 5-2 Tottenham Hotspur – friendly

Bromley began their pre-season programme with a 5-2 victory over a young Tottenham Hotspur side at Hayes Lane on Tuesday night, coming back from 2-0 down, with Marcus Dinanga scoring four goals in the second half.

Tottenham started the game looking sharper and moving the ball round quickly and raced into a two goal lead with a penalty from Reiss Russell-Denny and another from Tyrese Hall.

The young Spurs side looking to exploit space done the right and put in dangerous ball across the area, with Ellis Lehane and Yusef Akhamrich looking very impressive.

The Ravens settled as the half went on and started to create some half chances, but the visitors defence did well to contain Michael Cheek whenever he got the ball.

Bromley did get one back on 38 minutes though when Nathan Paul-Lavally crossed from the right and Soul Kader converted at the far post with a cool finish for 2-1.

The second half saw Bromley start with a completely different eleven and they looked very positive going forward and a lot more stable at the back with new signing Kyle Cameron, Sam German and Carl Jenkinson making up a solid back three.

Mitchell Pinnock had a good game down the left and delivered some dangerous balls into the area. Dinanga levelled the scores on 52 minutes and put Andy Woodman’s side in front two minutes later with another sharp  finish in the box.

Pinnock set Dinaga up for his hatrick before Marcus Ifill then turned supplier to play Dinaga in for his fourth, the striker crashing the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle to cap a fine return from a long injury lay off. By the end the Spurs youngsters looked a little shell shocked against a physical and positive Bromley team who were superb in the second half.

Andy Woodman opted for the shape he finished with last season, with two up front and a back three and will a have been pleased with what he saw despite the hesitant start. The Ravens now head off to Portugal for games with Lincoln City & Rotherham Utd.
