Against the odds Bromley secured the League Two Championship with a stylish 3-1 defeat of Walsall at a packed out Hayes Lane on Saturday afternoon, while MK Dons failed to win at Fleetwood Town.

To cap an historic occasion for the club the win also saw The Ravens go unbeaten at home in the league all season.
The game got off to an open start, played at a frantic pace with both sides having spells of pressure. Walsall’s Aaron Pressley having a shot cleared off the line by Marcis Ifill, before the tempo slowed down.
Pressley then had a header saved by Grant Smith, before Bromley pushed forward again. There were still people queueing to get in up to half an hour after kick off as the news broke that MK Dons were losing, but they did gain entry in time to see Ben Thompson fire wide and Ashley Charles send a free kick over the bar from 25 yards.
Omar Sowunmi then headed wide at the far post from a Mitchell Pinnock free kick and after persistent work by the fantastic Pinnock down the left, he then set up Jude Arthurs whose shot was deflected wide.
Bromley’s breakthrough came on 37 minutes, when Thompson received the ball on the left hand corner of the box, turned sharply and unleashed an unstoppable effort that crash high into the net, giving Myles Roberts no chance and sparking a huge surge in optimism around The Lane, which quickly settled once news of a Milton Keynes equaliser broke.
Pressley had another header saved at the other end going into the break, but The Ravens also went close when Nicke Kabamba set up Arthurs who missed his spectacular attempt at a bicycle kick.
Late in the half there were appeals for a foul on Thompson as he raced towards the box, but it looked at those he caught his foot in the turf.
The second half saw a cagey start, before Walsall stated to look the more dangerous, Courtney Clarke having a long range shot saved by Smith.
Bromley then got going again, Thompson and Arthurs were both denied by Roberts and Sowunmi had a header saved from a corner.
The Ravens extended their lead just after the hour mark when Kabama played a perfect through ball to Pinnock who hit a low drive from 20yards out that somehow sneaked under Roberts and into the net for 2-0.
The Saddlers were soon back in it though as they made it 2-1 two minutes later, Kacper Lopata having a shot saved by Smith only for Jid Okeke to follow up and convert the rebound.
Jamie Jellis then had a shot deflected over, before Bromley settled. The killer goal came on 66 minutes when a Pinnock corner found Sowunmi at the back post and he powerfully headed the ball over the line to make it 3-1 and put the game beyond Walsall.
There were chances at either end from there, Aaron Loupali-Bi fired wide for The Saddlers, while Corey Whitely set up Kabamba who saw his shot deflected wide. Clarke went close for the visitors, Sowunmi again for Bromley and the final chance saw Will Etheredge denied by the excellent Smith in the home goal.
The final whistle sounded with four minutes to go in the MK Dons game, they were still tied 1-1 at Fleetwood and despite late pressure were unable to get past The Cod Army handing Bromley the league title and sparking a mass pitch invasion of jubilant fans.

After an open top bus parade and a promotion party on Monday, Andy Woodman, the club and the players will have a summer to prepare for life in League One.
