Bromley 0-3 Gosport Borough
Bromley 0-3 Gosport Borough

Bromley were taught a lesson in finishing by Gosport as they crashed to another Saturday home defeat.

Despite starting brightly  with a couple of early chances The Ravens went behind on 9minutes when Borough opened up the home defence with some slick passing , Justin Bennet getting on the end of a Rory Williams ball and firing home from ten yards. Bromley responded to going behind with a good spell of pressure, Moses Ademola had two efforts saved by Ashmore and Danny Waldren hit the outside of the post, but too often they lacked the final ball when well placed.

Gosport could have gone further in front when Thomas Dunfold was just off target shooting across the goal, with The Ravens defence once again looking vulnerable.

The second half saw Bromley start well again with Pierre Joseph-Dubois wasting a great chance, blasting over from the edge of the penalty area after good work by Ademola blocking the keeper’s clearance who was then stranded.

The visitors battled back and made it 2-0 on 55 minutes when Adam Wilde hit a sweet finish pass Seb Brown ending of another well constructed attack.

Ademola headed just wide soon after, but that was the home sides’ last real chance as they became increasingly disjointed and lacking in ideas. Gosport made it 3-0 on 68 minutes when Matt Patterson finished off a quick move hitting an excellent effort over Brown. Mark Goldberg rang the changes and switched to three at the back, but it made little impact on a game that Borough won comfortably.

Mark Goldberg and his management team now have to look at the fact Bromley are without a home Saturday win since May and if they can turn this round there is still the opportunity to push for a promotion challenge again this term.

Next up The Ravens host Uxbridge in the FA Cup on Saturday 27 September.
