The game got off to as low key start, but Gillingham looked the stronger side as the half went on, Devante McKain who had a loan spell at Bromley last season, saw a fierce drive tipped over by Seb Brown, Bradley Dack saw a free kick saved and Luke Norris also had two efforts saved by Brown.3E3B8640 - Devante McKain holds off Harry Grant

Former Gills striker Adam Birchall had Bromley’s solitary effort on goal which was comfortably gathered by Stuart Nelson.

Norris went close again for Gillingham before The Ravens were dealt a huge blow when Sam Long went down with what looked a serious injury that saw him carried from the pitch with his leg in a brace.3E3B8767 - Sam Long receives treatment before being stretchered off

The second half saw Bromley start brighter, but they were still unable to break down the impressive Gills defence who were rarely troubled.

As the game progressed Gillingham again created the better chances with Cody McDonald just failing to connect with a cross at the far post before on 69 minutes they were awarded a penalty when Adam Bailey-Dennis brought down Danny Kedwell.3E3B8755 - Adam Birchall tackles Devante McKain

Pierre Joseph-Dubois and Birchall went close late on for Bromley, but they were unable to make a break through playing the last 5 minutes with ten men when Birchall limped off with all the substitutes made.
