Braintree Town 2-4 Bromley

Bromley secured another season in the National League with a confident display away at relegation threatened Braintree, recording only their second win in twelve visits to Cressing Road.

The game got off to an open start with both sides attacking down the wings, but it was Bromley who took the lead when Reeco Hackett cut the ball back for George Porter whose shot deflected beat Ben Killip to make it 1-0 to The Ravens on 15 minutes.
Luke Coulson went close soon after as The Ravens started to press The Iron and he was on hand to make it 2-0 five minutes later when Hackett again beat the home defence before finding Coulson who coolly weaved his way round Killip and rolled the ball into an empty net.
Bromley caused the home side problems every time they got the ball behind their defence to Hackett and Coulson and it was Coulson who crossed for JJ Hooper who saw his header saved. Former Bromley player Iffy Allen went close for The Iron with a volley and Korrey Henry headed just wide from a Andrew Eleftheriou cross as Braintree had a brief spell of pressure, but Bromley then battled their way back into things with Hackett having two good chances saved by Killip, one from close range and another from the edge of the box.
The third Bromley goal eventually came in first half injury time when Coulson set up Raymond who curled a beauty of a strike in off the post from 20 yards out. There was still time for Oscar Borg to see a free kick deflect over for the home side before the teams went in for the break with The Ravens three up.
The second half began with Hackett shooting wide after good work by Porter as Bromley went for the direct route down the slope, but Braintree came back into the game when Henry had a header Saved and from the resulting corner Kodi Lyons-Foster made it 3-1,glancing the ball into the top of the net.
The Iron then had a strong spell of play, before The Ravens then got going again. A long throw from Porter found Jack Holland who had a header saved, which was then followed by their fourth goal when Coulson found Hooper and the in form striker placed the ball in the corner of the net from ten yards out.
Late on Raymond set up Porter who was denied by Killip and Richard Brindley put a free kick just wide, but it was Braintree who scored the final goal in injury time when Mo Sogaf ended a good passing move with a sublime 25yard drive into the top corner of the net to make 4-2.
Even deeper into added on time Bromley missed a good chance to make it five when Dennon Lewis hit the post after showing some great footwork to create the opportunity.
Bromley now have a week off before they travel up to Salford City for their next league match on Saturday.
