Bradford City v Gillingham preview

Gillingham will be without forward Josh Parker who is on international duty with Antigua and Barbuda for the visit to Bradford City.

Boss Steve Lovell has no new injury or suspension problems following the postponement of last week’s scheduled home game against Blackburn Rovers.

Bradley Garmston, Connor Ogilvie, Rhys Murphy and Liam Nash have all recovered from recent illness and will be in contention.

Midfielder Billy Bingham (broken ankle) is still out, but is making good progress towards his return to action.

Bradford defender Ryan McGowan will sit out the game against The Gills and could miss the rest of the season.

Bradford, 1-0 winners in the reverse fixture in August, haven’t done a league double over Gillingham since the 2001-02 season whilst in the second tier.

The Gills are unbeaten in their last six visits to Valley Parade (W2 D4), scoring in each one of those matches. They haven’t lost away at Bradford since September 2010 in League Two.

Simon Grayson has lost just one of his nine previous managerial meetings with Gillingham, all in League One (W4 D4 L1), a 3-2 defeat with his Leeds United side in April 2010.

This will be the Gills’ fourth consecutive league game on the road, winning one, drawing one and losing one of the other three.

There has been a player sent off in three of the last four meetings between these two sides in League One (two for Gillingham, one for Bradford), most recently Conor Wilkinson for the Gills in their 1-0 defeat in August.

The Australia international, sidelined since mid-February, is working his way back from knee surgery and faces a race to be fit for the World Cup. Midfielder Matty Lund (hamstring) will be out for several weeks and goalkeeper Colin Doyle is on duty with the Republic of Ireland, so Lukas Raeder is likely to start.

Forwards Paul Taylor and Alex Jones (ankle) could be back in contention after returning to training this week.
