Defensive mistakes proved costly as Welling United crashed to defeat at home to Aveley leaving manager Danny Bloor wanting more from his side.

They conceded two poor goals in the first fifteen minutes, and another just before half time before pulling one back in the second period.

After the game, Danny Bloor gave his views “I lost my temper at half time.” he said. “I was very conscious to bring our two youngest players on and I felt that David and Enoch gave us some zest, some energy and enthusiasm but the horse has bolted when you’re three nil down.”

Although disappointed, Bloor tried to look on the bright side, saying “Confidence gets drained but you have to try and take some positives. No-one makes a mistake on purpose. I make lots of mistakes. I thought that Chiori Johnson was outstanding and Jack Burchell, at last, he could be returning.

“We’re getting punished. We don’t seem to get much rub of the green but it’s no good feeling sorry for yourselves, but to roll your sleeves up and have a go.”

Three new players were in the sixteen on duty, but that doesn’t mean that recruitment has been completed nor that absent players had departed. “We’re looking in all areas.” Bloor stated. “In the position where we are we need to be improving all the time.

“We’re in negotiations with Tristan (Abrahams) but his deal was until January the first. He wasn’t involved today but that’s not to say that something might happen with Tristan. We’ve got a behind closed doors game on Tuesday and there’s a number of things that we’re looking at.

“Ike Orji was injured. His loan has been extended. So has Adam Roscrow, there was a problem with the Welsh F.A., and hopefully Ben Winterbottom. They’ve not gone. There’s just a bit of I dotting and T crossing to be done. Ibra Sekajja is still with the club but has a hamstring injury.”
