It’s a local derby at Eden Park Avenue on Tuesday night as Beckenham Town take on Whyteleafe in the Isthmian League Division One South East.

Beckenham lost 3-2 away at promotion chasing Faversham Town on Saturday, George Porter and Freddie Nyhus with the goals for Becks in the second half. The defeat left newly re-appointed manager Del Oldfield’s side in twenty first place with 6 points from 9 league games, although in their previous home game Beckenham did win 4-0 at home to East Grinstead Town.
Whyteleafe go into the game sitting in fourth place with 19 points from 10 league matches, last weekend they won 2-0 at home to Hastings Utd thanks to goals from Helge Orome & Daniel Bennett. Ennio Gonella’s team have had a great start to life back at Step 4, winning six of their opening ten league games and progressing in the League Cup and Surrey Senior Cup.
When the sides met at Church Road last month Whyteleafe ran out 4-0 winners with goals from Jamie Mascoll, Alton Leeward, Daniel Bennett and Jordan Johnson, but Beckenham have since changed manager and will be looking to build on last week’s first win of the league campaign, another three points could potentially take them out of the bottom four.
This looks set to be an entertaining Kent/Surrey cross border derby with both sides looking for the points at opposite ends of the table.
Tickets are £10 for adults & £5 for concessions. Kick off in BR3 is at 7:45pm.
