Beckenham Town v Chatham Town preview

It’s a fascinating match up between third and first at Eden Park Avenue on Tuesday night, when Beckenham Town entertain leaders Chatham Town in the Isthmian League Division One South East.

Both teams go into the game on the back of wins at the weekend, Beckenham winning 1-0 at home to Sittingbourne courtesy of a Louis Theophanous goal, while Chatham recorded an impressive 4-1 win at Ashford Utd on Saturday, Ike Orji, Emmanuel Oloyede, Seidou Sanogo and Jack Evans all on target for The Chats.

The win maintained Chatham Town’s lead at the top of the table, picking up 48 points from 22 league matches, while Becks remain in third, having amassed 44 points from 22 games, just two points behind Ramsgate in second who have just parted company with manager Steve Lovell.

Both teams were promoted to this level at the end of last season, Jason Huntley’s Beckenham from the Combines Counties League, Kevin Hake’s Chatham from SCEFL Premier Division and both have made more than impressive starts to life at step four of Non League Football.

This promises to be a good game between two strong teams in good form, Beckenham only losing twice in six and Chatham having lost just the once so far in 2023.

When the sides met in the reverse fixture just ten days ago Chatham won 3-0, with two goals from Emmanuel Oloyede and one from Dan Bradshaw in front of a huge crowd of 1,072 and there should be another sizeable attendance in BR3 on Tuesday evening.

Entrance for the game is £10 for adults & £5 for concessions, with a programme for £2.

Kick off is at 7:45pm.
