Bearsted got their season off to a great start with victory over newly renamed Chislehurst Glebe thanks to debutant Adam Molloy who made three great saves.

The game started quickly when a cross into the area found Jamie Philpott whose snapshot was saved by Molloy. The game went into a lull and then in the 21^st minute a corner to the back post found Ryan Blake who stretching for it shot just past the post.

Two minutes later Nathan Palmer on the left received the ball and then cut inside and saw his shot curl over the bar. Bearsted nearly took the lead in the 28^th minute Matt Day flicked a long ball forward for Sam Stace to latch onto, but his flicked shot went just past the post.

Five minutes later Nathan Light cut inside and went across the eighteen-yard area before shooting but it went wide and then two minutes later Bearsted took the lead when Day was put through on goal and Tommy Taylor rushed out and fouled him, a penalty was given, up stepped Day and he smashed it straight down the middle.

In the 43^rd minute it nearly became two when a Blake free kick to the edge of the area saw Light flick forward for Day and his cross was met by Stace three yards out, but it came back off the cross bar.

Another chance came in the final minute of the half when a clearance went straight to Stace but from fifteen yards he shot over the bar.

The second half saw Glebe come out quickly and in the 45^th minute Nathan Palmer saw his twenty-five-yard shot go over the bar then eight minutes later a cross into the area found Philpott who then laid it onto Nathan Mampono and his shot was pushed around the post by Molloy.

Three minutes later Palmer on his own went into the area but his shot was saved by Molloy’s legs. In the 62^nd minute Clark Woodcock went flying down the right wing before crossing into the area for Light, but he headed wide.

A minute later Glebe could have equalised when a long clearance saw Palmer on his own and he went into the area before shooting Molloy again saved the day.

In the 81^st minute Ross Ibbertson saw his twenty-five-yard free kick tipped over the bar by Taylor. In the 87^th minute a contender for goal of the season when a ball down the right saw Rueban Jones cross into the area for Luka Radojevic and from eighteen yards he smashed the ball into the net giving Taylor no chance.
