Bazley joins Kent got One Day Cup Campaign

Kent have this afternoon announced the signing of Australian all-rounder James Bazley for the entirety of the 2023 Metro Bank One Day Cup, subject to regulatory approval.

This news comes after the Club secured the services of Matt Parkinson for the competition, which begins on Tuesday 1 August.

The 28-year-old lower-order power-hitter & fast-medium bowler joins Kent after playing club cricket for Sandwich Town Cricket Club in the Kent Premier League, having scored over 400 runs & 28 wickets for them so far this season.

Bazley has been one of the Brisbane Heat’s most accomplished bowlers in the past few years in the KFC Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia, playing alongside Sam Billings for the Heat and has also been a critical part of Queensland’s 50-over team in the Marsh Cup.

On joining Kent, Bazley said: “I’m really excited to be joining Kent for their defence of the One Day Cap.

“It’s a great opportunity to play county cricket with a great Club and I’m looking forward to joining up with the squad and getting started.”

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Paul Downton, said: “We’re delighted to welcome James into our squad for the One Day Cup.

“He has really enjoyed his time playing for Sandwich Town, and his all-round ability with the white ball will add to our competitiveness in the competition.”
