Gillingham are back on the road this Saturday as they travel to Barnet for their final away fixture of the season.

The Gills have only managed one win from their last 11 matches, including back-to-back losses in the last two. Last Saturday’s loss was a chastening 1-4 at home to Grimsby Town.
After going behind at the end of the first half, Gillingham drew level in the second half with Garath McCleary’s deft lob over the keeper following an impressive cross-field assist from Armani Little.
However, a defensive mix-up allowed Grimsby back in front with an easy tap-in before two more quick-fire goals put the game beyond the Gills’ reach.
The loss means Gillingham drop to 18th in the table with 50 points. Barnet, meanwhile, are ninth, four points away from the play-off places with two fixtures remaining.
Barnet have had a solid season so far, particularly given they spent the previous seven seasons in the National League. After losing the first three games in a row, they have managed to pick up 19 wins, including five from their last six fixtures.
Last Saturday, they won away at Notts County, thanks to a goal in each half for Kabongo Tshimanga. The hosts equalised with a penalty in the 36th minute, but they couldn’t contain Barnet in the second half.
Gareth Ainsworth has confirmed that Andy Smith could be back in contention for selection after his injury away at Cheltenham, which would be beneficial given they currently only have two fit centre-backs.
It has been reported there will be a significant away following in attendance and Ainsworth recently thanked the Gills fans for their tireless support in a largely forgettable season.
Gillingham will want to put in a performance for the travelling supporters who have supported the club through thick and thin this season.
