AFC Wimbledon v Charlton Athletic preview

Charlton make the short trip to Kingsmeadow to face AFC Wimbledon on Tuedsay evening.

The top two – Blackburn and Wigan – are also in action, but the Addicks are the only one of the team’s vying for a play-off spot that are playing.

It gives Lee Bowyer’s side the chance to put a little distance between themselves and the chasing pack.

‎The Dons are scrapping at the bottom of the table, and will be just as desperate to take the three points.

Lee Bowyer will have one or two decisions to make ahead of the game. Anfernee Dijksteel did not have the best of games against Bristol Rovers, and Bowyer may opt to bring Ezri Konsa back into the team.

Josh Magennis and Stephy Mavididi are others who will be pushing for a starting berth.

Bowyer has been carefully managing Lewis Page’s minutes, and would probably prefer to leave him out of this game. But with Jay Dasilva unlikely to be fit, Page may get another start.

Naby Sarr and Harry Lennon can play at left-back, but neither can provide the width going forward that Bowyer wants.

There may be a question about Sarr’s fitness too. He went off early in the pre-match warm-up at Bristol on Saturday, so he could have a problem.

Bowyer’s team could look something like this:

Amos; Konsa, Bauer, Pearce, Page; Aribo, Forster-Caskey, Reeves, ‎Kaikai; Magennis, Ajose.

Subs: Phillips, Sarr, Dijksteel, Jackson‎, Marshall, Mavididi, Zyro.

The referee will be Craig Hicks of Surrey.

The Addicks have sold their entire allocation of tickets for the game, and their large following will expect to gain revenge for December’s FA Cup defeat.
