When the news that the judge had rejected Paul Elliott’s request for an injuction reached Loftus Road last night, Thomas Sanderson could not contain his joy.

He hugged people around him, and later said this to the SLP:

“It’s very exciting that we got that hurdle out of the way.

“It’s nice to know who we’re dealing with. We’ve made a lot of progress in terms of negotiating with the parties. This is going to make everything easier now. I’m confident we’ll make it happen.

“I’d seen a lot of the details. I don’t really think the judge could have ruled any other way. Absolutely, it made me happy. I love this club already.”

“I always try to upgrade pretty quickly. My expectation is that we get it all done this week whilst I’m in town. I’m here until Sunday – I hope to get up to Swindon on Saturday to see the game.”said Sandgaard, who confirmed there will be money for Lee Bowyer to add to his threadbare squad:

“We still have a few days left before October 5th when the transfer window closes. ‎

“Hopefully we can do as much as possible and he can have the confidence that he (Bowyer) can build the best possible team for at least this part of the season.

“We’ve got another transfer window again in January. But getting off to the season in a good way is going to be important.”

‎The game was almost a side issue, and Bowyer will not lose any sleep over the defeat suffered by his young team – which included two 17-year-olds.

‎Erhun Oztumer gave the Addicks a first-half lead with a super free-kick. But the Wombles equalised straight from kick-off after the break following a misplaced pass from Aaron Henry.

Wimbledon secured the game when former Charlton defender, Terrell Thomas, headed home a right-wing corner.

The highlight of the night for Bowyer was the performance of his young debutant central defender, Charlie Barker:

“As a positive I thought young Barker was outstanding, outstanding. He didn’t put a foot wrong all night, in possession and out of possession.

“He defended properly when crosses came in, goal kicks, competing and fighting. I would say he was the biggest positive.

“Young Aaron (Henry) in midfield, apart from that pass (that led to the equaliser), he tried to do the right thing. They would have learnt a lot tonight. Those two especially I thought were a positive.”

Things should now move quickly on the takeover front. Sandgaard is hopeful of having everything sorted by the time he jets back to Colorado on Sunday.
