After last weeks FA Cup drama, AFC Greenwich Borough are back in FA Vase action this weekend when they take on Molesey in the 2nd qualifying round at Oakley Road, Bromley Common.

Borough have already knocked out Sheerwater 3-1 to reach this stage, having made a great start to their campaign across all competitions.

Topping the SCEFL Premier Division with 10 points from 4 games and progressing in the FA Cup. Tony Russell’s side won 4-3 away at Sittingbourne in the Cup last week coming back from 3-1 down, Stefan Payne and Harry Revill with two goals each.

The week before Borough won by the same score line in the league against current Landlords Petts Wood & Holmesdale.

Molesey make the journey over from Surrey sitting 13th in the Combines Counties League Division One with 13 points from 12 matches played. Last weekend Peter Doherty’s side lost 4-0 away at PFC Victoria London. This is The Moles first appearance in the Vase this season and they didn’t enter the FA Cup.

Oliwier Kaczmarek and Sean McDonnell both have six goals so far for Molesey this season, while Stefan Payne also has half a dozen for AFC Greenwich Borough, so both teams have men in form up front.

This will be an intriguing match up between a step 5 and step 6 side, both keen to progress in the tournament, which has the prize of a Wembley Final at the end of it.
