Charlton’s next two matches are against fellow strugglers Rotherham and Bristol City.

The Addicks need to take maximum points from these games to build momentum for the battle ahead.

Earlier in the week, Rotherham brought experienced striker, Luciano Becchio, back to the New York Stadium.

On Thursday, the Millers signed Birmingham’s creative midfielder, Andrew Shinnie, on loan.

The Aberdeen born 26-year-old made first appearances for Rangers, Dundee and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, before moving south to join the Blues in 2013.

Both players will in the squad to face Charlton on Saturday, and are more than useful acquisitions.

After Rotherham, the Addicks will entertain Bristol City at The Valley, and the Robins have also been active in the market.

Bournemouth playmaker, Lee Tomlin, joined City on Wednesday, and will add creativity. The Robins also increased their bid for Gillingham’s goal scoring midfielder, Bradley Dack, to £1,500,000.

22-year-old Dack hails from Greenwich and is just the type of player Jose Riga would love to have.

Both games will now be harder for Charlton.

The South London Press revealed on Thursday morning that Tony Watt is expected to go out on loan again before Monday’s deadline.

Watt’s permanent move to Cardiff collapsed when the Bluebirds were handed a transfer embargo last week.

Watt was keen to join the Welsh side and was in a difficult position when the deal fell through, and he had to return to The Valley.

Though he played all 90 minutes against Blackburn on Saturday, it seems unlikely that he will feature at Rotherham.

The Newsshopper has reported that Riga is set to appoint his former Metz assistant, Jose Jeunechamps, as his right-hand man.

Jeunechamps was in charge of Standard Liege’s Under-21 squad during Riga’s first spell with the Belgian side.
